Do you believe in numerology?
I ask because I'm starting to get a little interested in it myself.
I don't know much about it, but what I can tell you is that I bought my house in Bagheria for three reasons. And one of them was the house number!
A NUMBER THAT FELT LIKE A SIGN
Who buys a house because of the house number, you might wonder. When Harry and I went to view the house and I saw the number, I already knew I had to buy it. I never mentioned it to Harry, though. He would have thought I'd lost my mind.
Fair point.
But I'm afraid I can't give you an answer to that question.
And you know what's funny?
I didn’t even know what this master number meant!
Of course I looked it up afterward, but the information I found didn't tell me much beyond the fact that it stood for abundance, material prosperity, and manifestation power. Doesn't sound too bad, right?
I hadn't discovered AI yet back then!
Since then, I've obviously asked my questions to AI — in this case Microsoft Copilot. ChatGPT turned out to be a bit of a buzzkill. It kept adding disclaimers to every answer, pointing out that numerology is merely a theory and can’t explain anything.
Because that's what my questions were about…
THE FEAR OF LETTING MY GUARD DOWN
At first, I didn’t have a good time in this house at all. It was as if life kept dealing me one blow after another. And every time it looked like the danger had passed, or the problem was (temporarily) off the table, and I could slowly start to relax again and maybe even cautiously begin to enjoy myself — BAM! — the next blow would come.As a result, I eventually couldn't relax at all, because every time I did, a little voice in the back of my head would say: "Watch out — don’t let your guard down, and whatever you do, don’t start enjoying yourself, because the next blow is right around the corner!”
From the moment I became aware that I was enjoying something, I would immediately feel a stab of anxiety in my chest.
THE PATTERN I COULDN'T IGNORE
Even during the purchase of the house, I allowed the real estate agent and the notary to treat me in a way that showed little respect. And on top of that, I was accused of all kinds of things by various parties during that period — while in reality, I was the one who had been wronged, and in none of those cases was I able to prove it or set the record straight.
All of this took an enormous toll on me emotionally, and it also cost me a great deal financially.
THE OPPOSITE OF ABUNDANCE
So… material prosperity, abundance, manifestation power? No, that hasn't exactly been my experience with the number 88!
At first glance, anyway.
The theme of injustice is no coincidence, according to Copilot: "It is precisely the intersection of your life path 9, the confrontational 88 energy, and the heavy year vibrations of 2024–2026. From 2027 onward, this theme will lose its power."
Copilot based my 'life path 9' on my date of birth. "9 is the number of completing cycles, of seeing through patterns and clearing out old baggage," according to Copilot. "You seek meaning, not just matter."
I haven't experienced much of that so far, unfortunately — but what it feels like to live in house number 88, that I do recognize.
Because according to Copilot, living in house number 88 means you feel a pressure to finish things, to improve things, to be productive. It feels intense. It's a house where outer and inner growth reinforce each other.
FINDING MEANING IN THE CHAOS
Because a life path 9 is in a cycle of completion — of letting go and karmic themes — and house number 88 amplifies everything that is simmering beneath the surface, together they create, according to Copilot, a period of deep upheaval. "House number 88 rarely offers a soft landing. It is a house that clears out, shakes up, and restructures."
A person with life path 9 living in house number 88 will encounter, according to Copilot, old themes resurfacing, intense confrontations with boundaries and with safety and trust, a period of karmic completion, and a feeling of 'I am being tested.'
That is indeed how I experienced it — especially that feeling of being tested, when you have to endure one blow after another. I can't deny that at a certain point I started to wonder whether I had perhaps made one very big mistake by buying this house.
The absence of material abundance (quite the opposite, in fact) makes perfect sense, according to Copilot. "The 8 represents matter, but: 8 only gives abundance once stability, boundaries, and a foundation are in place. If those are lacking, 8 first shows you what isn't right. So: first comes chaos, loss, confrontation, and the collapse of the old system."
That during this period I kept being confronted with accusations, situations where I couldn’t defend myself, financial consequences, and a sense of powerlessness… fits perfectly, according to Copilot, with the shadow side of the 8 energy. And with 88, that is doubled.
In numerological terms, that also means: "Everything that isn't right, everything that isn't fair, everything you have carried for too long, rises to the surface to be brought to an end. Not because you deserve it, not because the house is 'bad,' but because this was the phase in which your system could no longer keep bearing injustice."
LEARNING TO LET GO
I have to say, I recognize a great deal in this.Indeed, completing old cycles, letting go of old pain — that has been a theme since early 2025, and little by little, alongside enduring and 'processing' that injustice, it has been taking up more space.
In fact, during the last lunch I had with Harry, I told him about an anecdote from my childhood that kept bubbling up at the time.
This process of working things through hasn't stopped at childhood memories. Here on the blog, I've already written several times about periods in my adult life that were difficult (including here and here) and that I'm now coming to terms with.
The most powerful thing of all is that, for the first time in my life, I'm beginning to move past the shame of talking about it at all. Yes, somewhere inside I'm still a little afraid of how people will judge me for it. But at the same time, I hope I'll be able to put those judgments in perspective — and keep them outside of myself.
A QUESTION FOR YOU
If you feel like sharing: do you believe in numerology yourself, or have you ever wondered whether numbers play a role in your life? And have you ever lived in a place that felt intense or transformative in a way you couldn’t quite explain at the time?
Or maybe you’ve looked back on a difficult period only later realizing what it was trying to teach you?
If you think this story might resonate with someone else, passing it along would mean a lot.
